Westerly faced Prout in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Crusaders, sneaking past 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-2 back in April.
Avery Gingerella spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella Keegan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
