Football Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson's last matchup with Prospect Ridge Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Saturday. The Saints were dealt a 50-8 loss at the hands of the Miners. The defeat continues a trend for the Saints in their meetings with the Miners: they've now lost four in a row.

Prospect Ridge Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emerson Mallon out in front who threw for 162 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 passes. Those 162 passing yards gave Mallon a new career-high. Hayden J Foster also helped with two scores in total.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Coming up, Jefferson will venture away from home to face off against Denver West at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against The Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
