Basketball Recap: Northwest Halifax Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Jermauri Evans and Daveion Richardson + How To Watch

Northwest Halifax was the 53-47 winner over North Edgecombe when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell 73-68 to the Warriors on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (56), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Northwest Halifax's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Daveion Richardson, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Jermauri Evans, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 17 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Richardson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Chris Williams, who posted 12 points.

North Edgecombe found their leader in freshman Pierre Hewlin, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and ten boards. Nyzir Mills was another key player, putting up 17 points and five rebounds.

Northwest Halifax now has a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, Northwest Halifax is taking a road trip to take on Hunt at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Edgecombe, they will host Hobgood Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors will be up against the Raiders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
