Football Preview: Mangum Tigers vs. Cordell Blue Devils
Mangum and Cordell are an even 5-5 against one another since October of 2014, but not for long. The Mangum Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Cordell Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Cordell's offense. They had to suffer through a 81-0 loss at the hands of Texhoma/Goodwell. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma football rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the are ranked 95th).
Mangum's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Cordell, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything came up roses for Mangum against Cordell in their previous matchup back in October of 2023, as the squad secured a 76-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mangum since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
