Brother Rice entered their tilt with Providence Catholic on Saturday with 24 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 25. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Celtics. Five seems to be a good number for the Crusaders as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Brayden McKendrick tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over 6.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gavin Triezenberg, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Nolan Ramoley, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Brother Rice pushed their record up to 26-1 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Providence Catholic, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-11.

Meanwhile, Providence Catholic will challenge Saint Ignatius College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (16 vs. 262).
