Mikkel Parker leads a balanced attack to beat Lower Brule

The Omaha Nation Chiefs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 48.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 60-50 victory over Lower Brule. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Omaha Nation also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Omaha Nation got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mikkel Parker out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Desma Walker, who scored 11 points.

The win got Omaha Nation back to even at 9-9. As for Lower Brule, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.

Omaha Nation and the Eagles will face off on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Omaha Christian Academy is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Lower Brule, they will head out on the road to face off against the Chieftains at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Dakota (Crow Creek is ranked 90th, while the Sioux are ranked 106th).
