Basketball Game Preview: Destiny Christian Academy Lions vs. Tracy Bulldogs

Two dominant guards in Jaylen Valdez and Maximillian Russell are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Destiny Christian Academy Lions will be playing at home against the Tracy Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Destiny Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Tracy likes a good challenge.

Destiny Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed past McClatchy to the tune of 95-49 on Friday. Given Destiny Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while McClatchy is ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Tracy walked away with it. They came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 59-46 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Destiny Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.9 points over those games. As for Tracy, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.

Destiny Christian Academy took their victory against Tracy when the teams last played back in February of 2019 by a conclusive 70-50. Does Destiny Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tracy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
