Baseball Recap: Rantoul Eagles vs. Clinton Maroons
Rantoul lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Clinton, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Eagles were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Maroons on Tuesday. The Eagles not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 24th (when they won 10-0).
Dalton Gernentz made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Rantoul is undefeated when Gernentz posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Dayton Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.
