It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Clarion Area ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over the Moniteau Warriors. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Ethan Rex made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Rex was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Billy Kahle was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Clarion Area's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Moniteau, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

Looking ahead, Clarion Area will challenge Johnsonburg at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.69 runs per game on average), something the Bobcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Moniteau, they will take on Karns City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Gremlins have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
