Teams with the most runs scored during the 2025 high school softball season

Alabama has 10 of the top 25 teams, led by No. 1 Springville.

With playoff teams taking the field up to 60 times in a season, it shouldn't be any surprise that a team from Alabama tops the list of high school softball teams with the most runs scored in 2025. In fact, the Yellowhammer State has 10 teams on the list.

With a record of 47-7-1, Springville leads four Alabama teams with over 500 runs at 529. The Tigers had 30 games with 10 or more runs, but ironically they never scored over 20 runs. Leadoff hitter Leah Bowden was one of the leading run scorers in the nation this year with 92. Meanwhile teammate Alex Layfield added 69. The two combined for 30 home runs with Layfield knocking out 19.

Curry (Jasper) comes in a close second with 526 runs during a 54-5 season. The Class 4A state runner-up got 103 runs from Ambrey Taylor while Ansley Brown scored 95 runs. Taylor was one of the leading home-run hitters in the nation with 26.

Orange Beach, which defeated Curry for the Class 4A championship, is third on the list with 512 runs. The Makos went 46-2 and finished No. 2 in the MaxPreps Top 25.

National champion Melissa (Texas) came in at No. 8 on the list with 483 runs. The Cardinals had six players in double figures in home runs with Kennedy Bradley hitting 24 and Caigan Crabtree blasting 20.

Teams are ranked based on scores reported to MaxPreps. Along with the team's run total and overall record, the team's average runs per game, run differential (runs scored minus runs allowed), number of 10-run games, number of 20-run games and highest-scoring game are included.
