Basketball Recap: Goochland Takes a Loss

Goochland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Louisa County Lions and fell 67-18. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Lions are ranked 194th).

Louisa County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taylor Yeatts, who went 10 for 11 en route to 22 points and six steals. Thanks to that strong game, Yeatts now owns an excellent 46.7% shooting accuracy. Peyton Brady was another key player, going 7 of 10 on her way to 18 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Goochland's loss dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Louisa County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-8.

Looking ahead, Goochland won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Albemarle at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Louisa County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spotsylvania at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
