League recap: Leesville Road extends winning streak with victory over Wake Forest-Rolesville

4A Cap Eight recap Oct. 30, 2012

Leesville Road extended the longest winning streak in 4A Cap Eight this week by beating Wake Forest-Rolesville, 36-7. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.

Leesville Road was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Cougars. Jeremy Fullbright 's team came in at 18 in the state poll after placing at number 37 last week.

On the ground, Wake Forest-Rolesville's Bryce Love has rushed for 885 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Taylor Bagley. The Wake Forest-Rolesville star has 12 catches for 212 yards.

Two highly touted recruits will be in the spotlight when Wakefield and Reggie Lucas' team meet this week. The Wolverines features well-regarded senior Connor Mitch while the Cougars has Love, a sought after sophomore.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Pride take on Heritage. Leesville Road is in first place, while Heritage is in fourth place.

Broughton moved up to 217 from 252 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Cap Eight. The Capitals were able to make move up by besting Sanderson 49-21.
