Softball Recap: Canterbury Triumphs

Canterbury's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Pinellas Park Patriots by a score of 8-4.

Kaylah Berta made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 16 over seven innings pitched. Those 16 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Ella Misenhelder was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Another player making a difference was Cali Baust, who scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Canterbury back to even at 1-1. As for Pinellas Park, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Canterbury has already played their next game, a 17-3 loss against Mount Dora Christian Academy on the 1st. As for Pinellas Park, they will be playing at home against Hollins at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
