Recap: Horizon Hawks vs. Edgewater Eagles
The Horizon Hawks fell victim to the Edgewater Eagles''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 45-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, Horizon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Edgewater is ranked tenth).
Edgewater got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Shields-Dutton out in front who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Shields-Dutton is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sir Semaj Fleming, who gained 96 total yards and a touchdown.
Horizon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Edgewater, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Horizon will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Jones at 7:00 p.m. Jones has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 225 points over their last four matchups. Edgewater will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Boone at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
