Softball Recap: Marshall Falls to Fulton

The Marshall Owls came up short against the Fulton Hornets on Wednesday and fell 9-6.

For Fulton's part, their win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Keira Whitmire, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances while posting 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 double.

Marshall has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 10 of their last 13 matchups, dating back to last year. That leaves them at a 3-6 record this season. Fulton's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-10.

Coming up, Marshall will look to defend their home field on Friday against Elsberry. As for Fulton, they will head out to challenge Blair Oaks at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
