Baseball Recap: Lyons Triumphs

Lyons's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Byron-Bergen Bees. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since May 14, 2025.

Austin Rice was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple was his first of the season.

Lyons' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Byron-Bergen, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyons will host Gananda Central at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Blue Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Lions' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Byron-Bergen, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Pembroke at 5:00 p.m.
