Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask East Central). They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Stone Tomcats on Tuesday. The Hornets not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12, 2024.
Gage Damazio was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Matthew Combs, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.
East Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Stone only posted a batting average of .235.
East Central's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Stone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.
East Central will have a chance to go back-to-back against Stone: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
