Basketball Recap: Danville's Loss Ends 17-Game Winning Streak on the Road

After flying high against Cascade last Tuesday, Danville came back down to earth. The Danville Warriors took a 49-35 bruising from the Plainfield Quakers on Saturday. The game marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Danville lost, don't look at Emma Ancelet. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. That's the most boards Ancelet has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Davis, who put up nine points.

Plainfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Berkeley Williams out in front who went 8 of 16 on her way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Menser, who had 11 points.

Danville's loss ended a 17-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-4. As for Plainfield, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Danville will challenge Decatur Central at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Danville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.4 points per game this season. As for Plainfield, they will square off against Brownsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Brownsburg's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
