Basketball Game Preview: Puyallup Vikings vs. Rogers Rams

The Puyallup Vikings will square off against the Rogers Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Puyallup is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Emerald Ridge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Rogers hadn't done well against Curtis recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Rogers secured a 70-64 W over Curtis.

Rogers has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Puyallup, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 15-4.

Puyallup strolled past Rogers in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 74-59. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Rogers' Treyshawn Weatherspoon, who went 8 for 16 en route to 21 points and four steals.
