Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Covenant Christian came into Saturday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Perry Meridian Falcons on Saturday. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered a 5-4 loss the last time these two teams met.

Henry Boyce was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Covenant Christian: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Cope, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Covenant Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Perry Meridian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian will welcome Beech Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hornets will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. As for Perry Meridian, they will host Plainfield at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
