Basketball Game Preview: Glenn Eagles vs. Oxford Academy Patriots

The Glenn Eagles will take on the Oxford Academy Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Glenn and four for Oxford Academy.

Last Friday, Glenn had to suffer through a 93-35 loss at the hands of Cerritos. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1122nd, while the Dons are ranked 510th).

Meanwhile, Oxford Academy suffered their closest defeat since December 12, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of Whitney by a score of 46-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Patriots have suffered against the Wildcats since April 30, 2021.

Oxford Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Glenn, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Glenn was dealt a bruising 68-32 defeat at the hands of Oxford Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Glenn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
