Football Recap: Louis E. Dieruff Comes Up Short at Home Against Pocono Mountain East

Louis E. Dieruff unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. The contest between the Huskies and the Pocono Mountain East Cardinals didn't end well, with the Huskies falling 42-27. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Pocono Mountain East's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ceejay Serfass led the charge by throwing for 275 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.0 yards per attempt. Connor Triano was in the mix too, providing the Cardinals with two scores.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Louis E. Dieruff is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Pleasant Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pocono Mountain East, they will head out to square off against Honesdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
