Softball Recap: Cheshire Academy's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak on the Road

If Cheshire Academy was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of King on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cats took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Kingswood Oxford Wyverns on Friday. The match marked the Cats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

T Ferraiolo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and three stolen bases. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of K Durkin, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two doubles.

Cheshire Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 3-2. As for Kingswood Oxford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cheshire Academy will square off against Greens Farms Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Dragons have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Kingswood Oxford, they will face off against Kent School at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
