Preview: Airline Vikings vs. Southwood Cowboys
Airline has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Southwood Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Airline has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 185 points over their last three matches.
Even though Benton scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Airline still came out on top. Airline walked away with a 69-60 victory over Benton.
Meanwhile, Southwood faced Peabody in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Southwood took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Peabody. It was the first time this season that Southwood let down their fans at home.
Airline is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. As for Southwood, their defeat ended a 13-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-7.
Things could have been worse for Airline, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-41 loss to Southwood in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Airline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
