Two dominant signal callers in Dutch Burbidge and Deshawn Laporte are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Pasadena will square off against Burbank at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Pasadena barely beat Hoover the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bulldogs breezed past the Tornados to the tune of 66-8 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Tornados: they've now won six in a row.

Synncere Pitts had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 139 yards and three scores on only 11 carries. Kyle Robertson was in the mix as well, providing Pasadena with two TDs.
Pasadena didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sebastian Clark and Dior Middleton. Middleton is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last five games he's played. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Burbank). They claimed a resounding 55-13 victory over Arcadia. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Apaches are ranked 854th) , the win on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
A big part of Burbank's win came down to the chemistry between Chase Miles and his top target Tyler Hudson. Miles picked up 182 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns while Hudson picked up 126 receiving yards and three scores. Those 182 receiving yards gave Miles a new career-high. Troy Wells was another key player, rushing for 63 yards and one TD on only six carries.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Burbank's defense and their four sacks. Aidan Dagher was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself.
Pasadena's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Burbank, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-2.
Pasadena came up short against Burbank when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 33-21. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Laporte, who rushed for 90 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 202 yards and two TDs. Now that Pasadena knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
