 The Rome Wolves will be playing at home against the Etowah Eagles at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. Rome is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
 Last Friday, Rome kept a clean sheet against Statesboro. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of  2-0. The  win was all the more spectacular given Rome's disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings  (they are ranked 284th, while Statesboro is ranked 102nd).
 Rome was led to victory by the tag-team duo of 
 Emily Cooper and 
 Annabel Chandler, who scored both of Rome's goals.  The pair have combined for a total of nine so far this season.
 Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Etowah's offense. They fell just short of River Ridge by a score of  1-0. That's two games in a row now that Etowah has lost by exactly one  goal.
 Rome's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Etowah,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-2.
 Rome might still be hurting after the  10-0 loss they got from Etowah  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2023. Can Rome avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
