Baseball Game Preview: Ferndale Golden Eagles vs. Ellensburg Bulldogs

The Ferndale Golden Eagles are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will take on the Ellensburg Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Ferndale is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Snohomish just ended the team's four-game winning streak dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 9-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Golden Eagles have suffered since April 12, 2024.

Ferndale got a good showing from Bryce Manibusan, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Ferndale saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Brown, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Ellensburg kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 6-0 to West Valley.
