Softball Recap: Attica Comes Up Short

Attica extended their losing streak to five on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 1-5 in the process. They lost 6-0 to the Pembroke Dragons. The Blue Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 5-4.

As for Pembroke, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Pembroke's part, not much got past Jayden Hootman, who gave up just five hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Attica off the board. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Hootman.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Adalyn Ball, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI.

Looking ahead, Attica will take on Warsaw at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Pembroke, they will challenge Byron-Bergen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
