Basketball Recap: The Woodlands Christian Academy Takes a Loss

The Woodlands Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 51-34 to the Kelly Catholic Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 29-15 back in January.

Mattie Holmes was her usual excellent self, putting up 32 points and six rebounds for Kelly Catholic. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Holmes has scored at least a third of Kelly Catholic's points. Abigail Brown was another key player, earning six points and four steals.

The Woodlands Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Kelly Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 13-16.

The Woodlands Christian Academy has already played their next match (against Legacy Prep Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Kelly Catholic will be playing at home against Frassati Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kelly Catholic is facing Frassati Catholic at the right time seeing as Frassati Catholic is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
