Baseball Recap: Covington Academy Takes a Loss

Covington Academy lost against Peachtree Academy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bulldogs lost 16-5 to the Panthers. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Austin Lowery made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tyler Henderson, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Covington Academy's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-10. As for Peachtree Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.

While Covington Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
