Softball Game Preview: Ogemaw Heights Falcons vs. Clare Pioneers

For the first time this season, Ogemaw Heights will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to take on the Clare Pioneers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ogemaw Heights has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a Battle of the Birds when Ogemaw Heights challenged Shepherd last Tuesday. The Falcons fell 11-6 to the Bluejays.

Caleigh Brindley was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Aaliyah Dantzer also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, Clare entered their tilt with Beaverton on Wednesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They never let the Beavers get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Clare pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their 19th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ogemaw Heights, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
