Softball Recap: Vista Ridge Has No Trouble Against Fountain-Fort Carson

Vista Ridge won the last time they faced Fountain-Fort Carson and things went their way on Saturday too. The Wolves put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 15-5 win. Considering the Wolves have won five matchups by more than seven runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaysen Morgan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.

At the plate, Jaylani Jusino was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jocelynn Kalkman, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Vista Ridge hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 14 consecutive contests.

Vista Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-7.

Vista Ridge will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Trojans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
