Football Game Preview: Mott Marauders vs. Cousino Patriots

The Mott Marauders will head out on the road to square off against the Cousino Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Mott didn't have too much trouble with Fraser as they won 27-12. The Marauders haven't had any issues with the Ramblers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Cousino got themselves on the board against Utica Ford on Friday, but Utica Ford never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Falcons 35-0. That 35 point margin sets a new team best for the Patriots this season.

Cousino's win came from a few key players Mott will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Julian Hayes, who picked up 73 receiving yards and two TDs. The team also got some help courtesy of Brick Sandridge IV, who threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Mott now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cousino, they now also have a winning record of 3-2.

Mott strolled past Cousino in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 35-21. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Patriots' Daniel Carter, who rushed for 233 yards and one score while picking up 9.0 yards per carry. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Marauders still be able to contain Carter? There's only one way to find out.
