Recap: East St. Louis Flyers vs. Collinsville Kahoks

The East St. Louis Flyers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They took a 51-37 bruising from Collinsville. East St. Louis was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Collinsville apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.

Collinsville got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Talesha Gilmore out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. The game was Gilmore's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Bardwell, who scored 13 points.

East St. Louis has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Collinsville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

East St. Louis will be playing in front of their home fans against Belleville West at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Collinsville, they will head out on the road to face off against Triad at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Triad and Collinsville are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
