Baseball Recap: Camden Hills Comes Up Short at Home Against Skowhegan

Camden Hills unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 6-3 to the Skowhegan River Hawks on Friday. The Windjammers have struggled against the River Hawks recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Brian Leonard put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits. Leonard was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Tucker Whitley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.
