Basketball Recap: Jupiter's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was fun while it lasted, but Jupiter's undefeated season came to an end after seven games on Friday. They took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Nease Panthers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Panthers are ranked 349th).

Nease got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Langston Hackworth out in front who went 5 for 6 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Lindsay, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 14 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Jupiter fell to 7-1. As for Nease, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Jupiter won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Father Lopez at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Nease, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Gateway at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
