Baseball Recap: Albertus Magnus Wins Going Away Against Ardsley

After only two runs in their last game, Albertus Magnus made sure to put some runs up on the board against Ardsley on Monday. The Falcons blew past the Panthers 13-1. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won seven in a row.

Luke Forsberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Albertus Magnus' success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Derek Sullivan, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Sean McGuinness was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Albertus Magnus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ardsley only posted an OBP of .200.

The victory got Albertus Magnus back to even at 6-6. As for Ardsley, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
