Basketball Recap: Pawhuska Takes a Loss

Pawhuska was the 66-57 winner over Pawnee when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Pawhuska Huskies were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 49-48 to the Pawnee Black Bears. The Huskies' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Despite the loss, Pawhuska still got an impressive performance from Dax Godsey, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards. Another player making a difference was Canyon Hindman, who had nine points and five rebounds.

Pawhuska's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Pawnee, their victory bumped their record up to 8-12.

Pawhuska won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Newkirk at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pawhuska is facing Newkirk at the right time seeing as Newkirk is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Pawnee has already played their next match (against Blackwell), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
