Baseball Recap: Timberlake Christian Takes a Loss

Timberlake Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 17-7 to the Temple Christian Crusaders. The Tornadoes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Crusaders from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Josiah Smyth was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Jackson Heppding also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Even though they lost, Timberlake Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Timberlake Christian's record now sits at 0-4. As for Temple Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Coming up, Timberlake Christian will be playing at home against Westover Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Temple Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Faith Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Faith Christian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.83 runs per game on average), something Temple Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
