Basketball Recap: Auburn Takes a Loss

Auburn suffered their biggest defeat since December 26, 2024 on Monday. They were dealt a 61-34 loss at the hands of the Pleasant Plains Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Cardinals are ranked 41st).

Auburn's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Pleasant Plains, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Auburn has already played their next matchup (against Mt. Pulaski), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Pleasant Plains has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Maroa-Forsyth.
