Baseball Recap: East Gaston Comes Up Short

After flying high against Highland Tech last Wednesday, East Gaston came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Burns Bulldogs on Wednesday, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-0 loss on April 3rd.

Dylan Howell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

East Gaston's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Burns, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

East Gaston does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Burns, they will square off against Cherryville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ironmen's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
