After a string of five wins, Oxford's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They came up short against the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies, falling 55-34. The matchup marked the Yellow Jackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the defeat, Oxford had strong showings from Ava Thomas, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds, and Jaslyn Montgomery, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points and six rebounds.

Oxford's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Hewitt-Trussville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oxford will face off against Spring Garden at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spring Garden has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 226 points over their last three contests. As for Hewitt-Trussville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against James Clemens at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hewitt-Trussville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully James Clemens likes a good challenge.
