Basketball Game Preview: Paradise Valley Trojans vs. Cactus Cobras

The Paradise Valley Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Cactus Cobras at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Paradise Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Cactus likes a good challenge.

Two weeks ago, everything went Paradise Valley's way against Youngker as Paradise Valley made off with a 63-43 win. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Roughriders are ranked 223rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cactus had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against North Canyon by a score of 61-48 on Friday.

Cactus' win came from a few key players Paradise Valley will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Xavier Ledet, who posted 13 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Dominic Duran, who put up 12 points.

Paradise Valley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Cactus, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9.

Paradise Valley came up short against Cactus in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 67-57. Thankfully for Paradise Valley, Bradey Henige (who dropped a double-double on 38 points and 29 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
