Softball Recap: Port Charlotte Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Port Charlotte's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the DeSoto County Bulldogs on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 4-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Port Charlotte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylin Pinedo, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Rihanna Rosario also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Port Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for DeSoto County, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Port Charlotte will challenge Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port Charlotte's pitchers better be ready for this one: Mariner has averaged an impressive 7.9 runs per game this season. As for DeSoto County, they will face off against Babcock at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with DeSoto County sitting on three straight victories and Babcock on seven.
