Basketball Recap: Garey Comes Up Short

Garey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Sierra Vista Dons and fell 84-50. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 67-44 two weeks ago.

Sierra Vista's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Buna, who went 8 of 10 en route to 19 points and four steals. Buna has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Dolan Dease was another key player, going 7 for 13 on his way to 17 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Garey's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Sierra Vista, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10.

Garey didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-43 defeat against Nogales on the 23rd. As for Sierra Vista, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-53 victory against Duarte on the 23rd.
