Baseball Game Preview: Pickett County Bobcats vs. Oneida Indians

The Pickett County Bobcats will head out to take on the Oneida Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pickett County is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Pickett County came up short against Clarkrange on Tuesday, falling 17-7. That's two games in a row now that the Bobcats have lost by exactly ten runs.

Reid Sells and Jayden Daniels stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sells went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Daniels went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Sells has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Colson West, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Oneida fell victim to Coalfield and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 25-0 to the Yellow Jackets. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Indians haven't been shut out since back in March.

Oneida's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Pickett County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

Pickett County came up short against Oneida in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 12-9. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
