Recap: DePaul Cristo Rey vs. Dohn Community Panthers
DePaul Cristo Rey's's game on Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 58-46 victory over Dohn Community. With that victory, DePaul Cristo Rey brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
It was another big night for Britain Starks, who scored 24 points. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of DePaul Cristo Rey's points. Mohamed Barry was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
DePaul Cristo Rey's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Dohn Community, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-2.
DePaul Cristo Rey will head out on the road to face off against Gamble Montessori at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gamble Montessori knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully DePaul Cristo Rey likes a good challenge. Dohn Community will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th.
