Softball Recap: Monomoy Gets the Win

While Monomoy's win against Wareham wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Sharks won by a run and slipped past the Vikings 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sharks have posted against the Vikings since June 6, 2019.

Kinsey Lister spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Lexi Totten was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kiley Mawn, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Monomoy's win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Wareham, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Monomoy will take on Bourne at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wareham, they will venture away from home to square off against Sandwich at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Blue Knights have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
