The Westview Wolverines are taking a road trip to take on the Millard West Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Westview will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Westview's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 72-0 win over Omaha Northwest. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won four contests by 35 points or more so far this season.

Sage Giddings and Scott Miner II were among the main playmakers for Westview as the former rushed for 74 yards and three scores and the latter threw for 187 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. What's more, Miner II racked up 165.2 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. 86 of Miner II's passing yards were hauled in by Kingston Moore, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Westview, adding 16 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Aaron Ly, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 62 points the game before, Millard West was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against Lincoln North Star, falling 35-10. The Wildcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Westview is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.3 points over those games. As for Millard West, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-4.
Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Westview has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 174 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Millard West, though, as they've been averaging only 83.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
Westview took a serious blow against Millard West when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 34-7. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
