Softball Recap: Portsmouth West Drops Season-High Score on Southeastern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Portsmouth West). They were the clear victors by a 15-7 margin over the Southeastern Panthers on Tuesday. The Senators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Portsmouth West let Brooklyn Pitts and M Bradford run wild. Pitts went 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Bradford went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Those four runs gave Pitts a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyleigh McCleese, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Portsmouth West kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Portsmouth West's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Southeastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.

Portsmouth West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-10 loss against Miami Trace on the 19th. As for Southeastern, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Adena on the 16th.
